Am I cooked? Job interview

Interviewed with a company recently. Felt like 1st zoom interview was going well ( good rapport and was complimenting me through interview) but noticed towards the end, guy had his arms crossed.

2nd zoom interview ( different guy and felt like it went well too/good rapport as well and liked my background as well) However, ended with they are early in interviews and it will be a week and a half until next round and he will have to speak with 1st guy I interviewed with.

Not that it matters, but curious what you guys think? Am I cooked? Would just think that standard procedure would be they would move faster if they were truly interested and wouldnt hear " We are still early in interview process" etc.

Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights that might help you assess your situation:

  1. Body Language: The crossed arms of the first interviewer could be interpreted in various ways. It might indicate discomfort or disinterest, but it could also simply be a comfortable position for the interviewer. It's not necessarily a definitive sign of a negative outcome.

  2. Interview Process Timing: It's common for companies to take their time during the interview process, especially if they are early in the process. The statement "we are still early in the interview process" suggests that they are still evaluating multiple candidates and haven't made any final decisions yet.

  3. Follow-Up: The fact that the second interviewer mentioned needing to speak with the first interviewer is a standard part of the process. It indicates that they are taking a collaborative approach to decision-making, which is typical in many firms.

  4. Positive Feedback: Receiving compliments and establishing good rapport are positive signs. They suggest that you made a good impression, even if the process is moving slowly.

  5. Patience and Persistence: As highlighted in the "Navigating the Unemployment Terrain" thread, it's important to stay patient and persistent. The hiring process can be lengthy and unpredictable.

In summary, while the process might seem slow, it doesn't necessarily mean you're out of the running. Companies often take their time to ensure they make the best hiring decision. Keep a positive outlook and continue to prepare for potential next steps.
