2025 Full Time ER?
Hey guys, rising senior at a target studying math/cs, finance. Last summer worked in PE and this summer at a tech startup. Recently learned about the ER field and am very interested in it. What is recruiting for 2025 full time for both buy/sell-side looking like? I know I’m not doing an internship in finance this summer but would love to end up in a full time role in the industry. Thanks!

if you do your research you might see that ER recruiting is on an as needed basis not on a hiring class as in banking. It can be challenging to land a job in research straight out of school, it's easier if you network at firms you're interested in so that the director of research has your resume on hand when they're looking to hire. (this is for the sell-side)
What if your doing an SA at BB but want to join a different BB. Anything change there?
why would you want to do that? MS vs GS vs JPM vs etc.
If you wanted to change sector/analyst between SA and full time at the same bank that's easier.
Unless you have a good reason it doesn't make nearly any sense to switch BBs between SA vs FT if you liked the team and the coverage.
Dont want to doxx myself but on a extremely highly ranked analyst think your highest earner. Hours are too much putting 90+ a week and want to go to a chill non ranked team.
Okay so if you're a current summer analyst keep with the coverage through the summer and then have a discussion with the DoR at the end of the summer about returning. If you already work at a firm and perform well in the highest* performing group you shouldn't have an issue finding a position for when you graduate. It's harder switching firms, think about it from the new firms perspective. Okay he's not returning to our competitor, why? The most likely conclusion from not returning FT to a SA position as that you weren't offered to return. Just switch analysts or coverages it won't be hard. If you're a month into it and its 90+ hours a week. Well, get better, suck it up it's only 2 more months.
Or don't at the end of the day its only a job, there's billions of jobs.
