NUS / INSEAD Master in Finance in Singapore
I have a full time job in the middle east on finance side. Working for three years now on various projects, including middle office of Asset Management firm for 18 months and corporate finance side . I am 25 now and want to move ahead towards asset management or research. I am a chartered accountant and a CFA L2 candidate.
I am in talk with a headhunter in Singapore who says that if i am interested in a contract basis job there(preferably on asset management side, though i don't have much details yet), they can fit me in.
I am thinking of this as opportunity to enter singapore job market on say,a two year contract and side-by-side get into NUS's Master in Finance Course( does INSEAD offer MFin part time?). So, by the time i finish the contract job, i will be on my way towards getting a prestigious Master in Finance and hopefully a job in asset management.
i am too excited with this option of getting out of middle east( pay is good initially here but job growth prospects are always dim) that i think i may miss something important . Would really help if someone point me the caveats here. What do you guys think could be the risks?
NUS isn't that reputable. doesn't really have great placement.
does Insead has Masters in finance ? Couldn't find much about it on their website?
insead does not really offer one. they have had an agreement with Macquarie where those guys were able to get finance education in form of a masters in finance.
that one is part time and is over three years. but if you are not at that firm i guess insead does not offer finance masters. im not an expert on this so maybe someone who studied at insead knows more.
nus should be good for singapore right? or do you think nanyang or smu are better?
I feel NUS MFin is certainly more reputable than nanyang in Singapore. I have not heard of smu till now.If INSEAD is out, then i have only NUS on the table .Any other suggestions? Thanks
