High school student in London

First of all, for anyone who's going to say enjoy your summer, thanks for the advice. You can scroll to the next post.


Okay so basically, I am visiting the UK this summer and among the cities I am visiting is London I love the consulting world and have read about it a ton (firm types, casing,  landing clients, day-to-day work, etc.) Since London is one of the financial capitals of the world, do you guys think it might be possible for me to get a day in the life of or accompany some person in a consulting firm or a finance role in general? I know a partner/managing director of a consulting firm in my country and he was a partner at the London office too. Should I ask him to refer me? If so, how should I go about it? Or is it simply not possible for someone outside of the firm/specific summer programs to enter the firms building.


Many thanks and btw this isn't a troll post I'm just genuinely interested and would like to see what happens in real life instead of listening to stuff online.

 

You can just email people and ask for stuff. 0 downside, 100% potential upside. 

Email someone and say that you would like to shadow them. Ideally email only senior people.
