How Long For Decision?
I had a final round last Wednesday for a FO position. I was told (during the first round, which was 1.5 weeks prior to that), that if I were to make it to the final round, I pretty much have the position, the guy just wants to meet everyone that the hiring managers are going to bring on. They also said that they wanted to move fairly quickly with this. However, I have not heard anything from them yet.
How long does it usually take for firms to make a formal decision after the final round? They knew I was taking the CFA last Saturday so I assume that my manager didn't want to bother me before then. However, I did not receive a call yet this morning and am now very worried. I am looking for apartments in Manhattan and my potential roommates (and I) would like to know what sort of a budget to look at...
Also, should I call HR to see what's up? Or is it too soon?
Went through something similar a while ago. I was told they wanted to make a quick decision but it eventually took them 10 days to get back to me with an offer. Sit tight until the end of the week. If nothing comes up, shoot an email to either HR, or even better, to one of the people you interviewed with.
Was this IB?
This is a quant-type position on the Buyside. I'll call HR since these managers are not salespeople and may not appreciate me being pushy...
