Can you afford to mess up in an interview?

Let's say I had a technical interview for a Summer Analyst position at an elite boutique and I messed up a bit. I knew all my basics, but I was hit or miss on the more intuitive questions. I'm in the diversity program for this bank and have a strong connection with an MD. Is it okay that I missed a few questions or are they going to cut me?

 

If by strong connection you mean the MD is your uncle, I have seen a lot worse candidates get seats.

 

I messed up in a couple hard technicals in a top EB final round but I still got offer cuz I impressed in behaviourals and probably because they were hard Rx questions. Also am non finance
