Top Boston Investment Banks (M&A)
Anyone have a reputable source on the M&A activity of Boston Branches? There seems to be a sizable number of firms but some websites seems to only indicate wealth management divisions.

Career Resources
Aside from Deutsche Bank, fairly certain no other BBs have IBD presence in Boston. However, a few EBs (Evercore, Greenhill) and MMs (BB&T) have bankers in Boston.
Other notables with Boston offices are PJT, Lazard, Harris Williams, William Blair, and Raymond James. Most if not all of these offices are tech focused.
I work for a PE fund focused on Tech and we often deal with the aforementioned banks from Boston. William Blair and Raymond James are particularly strong in MM tech space.
Jefferies and Moelis have offices in Boston
I believe it is their automotive aftermarket team
KeyBanc has some bankers in Boston.
GS Takeover Defense MD is out of Boston
I know this because he was at the info session
Unsure how many of his team is with him in Boston
JPM has a small software presence there
Global head of JPM Software banking sits in Boston, pretty much the ex DB team that all got poached - runs lean about 7-12 in total headcount I think
Leerink (HC focused). Does state street have ibd?
I don't think so but would like someone else to confirm.
State street most definitely does not have an investment banking division.
Piper Jaffray has an office in Boston.
I can confirm that almost all of the aforementioned boston banks are tech focused.
There are also a good amount of lesser known middle market firms like CG, CW Downer, G2, etc.
Yeah, Piper's is small and tech focused.
I know RBS/Citizens at least has a LevFin group in Boston, not sure about M&A though.
Know Lazard has a tech focused M&A presence in Boston.
That's correct. 100% tech team there right now.
Also, unless things have changed drastically in the past 6 months, I can confirm that group is one of the roughest at the firm at the junior level.
Can confirm as well. They do a lot with the big tech players and they are extremely lean for the amount of deals they do.
At the upper levels, the office is a lot of ex-DB guys. A few came from Cowen too.
Provident Healthcare Partners, Shea & Co., Shields & Co., Aeris Partners,
Capstone Partners (another lesser known middle market)
Is this Robert Du Val?
I also think there are smaller banks like AGC partners, Covington, etc that may be decent shops

I'll be working in the Boston Area this Summer (junior summer) and would be interested to see if anyone could provide more insight for what full-time IB opportunities might exist in the area.
