Putting Summer Analyst instead of Summer Intern on resume -- Bad Idea?

Long time lurker here and got a question that might sound silly but couldn't find this topic discussed anywhere else on here.

I'm starting as an intern for a boutique IB in a major southwestern city where my title is: Investment Banking Summer Intern. I consulted with some friends who also work in FT in IB about putting "IB summer analyst" on my resume and linkedIn instead, primarliy for recruiting purposes, and they definitely recommended it. Pretty much every BB and EB calls summer interns "summer analysts", so wanted to fit the mold during recruiting for next summer.

Just didn't want to draw any unnecessary attention from my manager/current employees at the firm or get dinged for something as small as this. From the director in the final round, I'll be doing essentially what every other SA does in the industry alongside regular intern bitch work, so would love to hear WSO's take on this matter.

Thx

It's understood that "Summer Analyst" implies an internship. So using Summer Analyst to describe Summer Intern is not misleading.

As a general rule, for branding yourself on a linkedin page or a resume, its ok to use a more recognizable functional job title as long as it doesn't somehow overstate your role/responsibilities.
