Wallstreetoasis.com has a number of experienced industry professionals who contribute on certain discussion posts, mainly related to investment banking and private equity. The majority of users are high school and college kids who aspire towards a career in finance. The WSO database is helpful to provide insight into company reviews, interview details, and salary and bonus data for the many of the largest banking firms. The training modules are also very helpful. I purchased the DCF modeling course a while back and was pleased at how comprehensive it was. Also, I enjoy being able to throw “monkey s#i+” at users who offer less than helpful comments. I wish I had known about WallStreetOasis when I was younger. My career path would have been much less circuitous.

I started browsing WSO during my time as sophomore in college. I had always been interested in finance but had only a faint idea of what it actually entailed. WSO allowed me to both better understand how different jobs within the realm of finance actually work, as well as gain some valuable insights into the cultures / working conditions at many firms. I think the resource was instrumental in my ultimate career search and recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing a career in finance.

I really enjoyed working with my mentor for my resume review. He took the time to explain why he made each specific change to my resume. I had my resume reviewed by hundreds, if not thousands, of people who work in finance and before the WSO resume review service, I thought that it would be hard to find improvements. However, he clearly knew what he was doing and truly perfected it.

This website has been invaluable as a first generation college student. The information on the industry contained here helped me break into finance, and now I have a full time offer in private equity after graduation.

However, it can get very elitist here which gets annoying sometimes.

Great resume review

WSO had a massive impact on the direction of my career. Coming from a non-target and non-traditional background, I would have had no idea where to get started re: recruiting or even the basics of networking. Whereever I had questions about how to reach out, what to wear, what to read, the right questions to ask, etc., WSO had a thread to give me the answers that helped me eventually land several offers for both internships and FT. Certainly wouldn’t be where I am today without it.

Great resource for newcomers to finance or those looking to break into industry; definitely gave me a lot of information regarding interview prep. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get their foot in the door of a big wall street firm, or even just those who want to learn more about the finance industry.
