Marines post with Nazi emblems

People on this board will defend the war machine at any cost so I am interested to see what the excuse for their actions is this time.

Hmmmm....Picture of Marines, holding sniper rifles, posing next to scout sniper flag.

Looks like the media is fucking retarded...again.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

Perhaps a mild hoax? SS=scout snipers. They're all holding sniper rifles.

I don't know about anyone else, but this is big of an issue as a kid wearing a beer logo on his shirt to school.

This type of thing has been covered ad nausea. All this does is piss off the locals and draw more fire. At this point, if the military is cool with that, who the hell cares? They're taking the bullet.

From a diplomatic standpoint, this stuff is a pain in the ass because now some fucking foreign minister can gum up the negotiations with this crap. Word from the generals typically is "knock it off, you're making my job harder"....and then a wink and a nod implying "A for effort though".

Get busy living

We can do whatever we want. We spend about as much on military spending as the rest of the world combined. What's Europe gonna do, start paying for their own military?

Competition is a sin. -John D. Rockefeller

As a former Marine who also worked with STA (Scout Sniper Platoons), I can say this is an honest mistake. I remember seeing SS insignias pretty much everywhere, with various ways of depicting the SS.

Like they said, it was a misunderstanding, and there was never an intention to insult or offend. On another note, some people are way too sensitive, there is nothing to investigate.

1/2 STA

They aren't using it as a Nazi symbol, or to relate to Nazi Germany in any way. Just like the Hindi, Jaini, and Buddhists use the swastika as a symbol to get shakti don't support Nazi Germany.

Just because some piece of shit used some symbol a long time ago, doesn't mean it should never be used again.

You might want to revisit the clockwise vs counter-clockwise swastika...counter (also meaning against), is specifically why the nazis used that symbol.

If the glove don't fit, you must acquit!

nevermind

"In ancient times, the direction of the swastika was interchangeable as can be seen on an ancient Chinese silk drawing.

Some cultures in the past had differentiated between the clockwise swastika and the counter-clockwise sauvastika. In these cultures the swastika symbolized health and life while the sauvastika took on a mystical meaning of bad-luck or misfortune.

But since the Nazis use of the swastika, some people are trying to differentiate the two meanings of the swastika by varying its direction - trying to make the clockwise, Nazi version of the swastika mean hate and death while the counter-clockwise version would hold the ancient meaning of the symbol, life and good-luck."

1) They most certainly don't support the Nazis. 2) Better that they refer to themselves as STA (Surveillance and Target Acquisiton, IIRC) 3) SS runes are kinda cool looking (and scary as s**t, says this nervous Jew)

No joke, SS runes and Nazi uniforms are scary as s**t. In a badass evil way.

I think the website of this Jewish ex-USMC enlisted man, in addition to having hilarious comics, also has a good take on this: www.terminallance.com

One thing Hitler was really good at was intimidation. He equipped his troops with scary uniforms, flags, emblems...Too bad he couldn't dress those fuckers up for the Russian winter.

UFO tends to have the answer that I'd go with whenever it's about the military.

Who gives a shit what these guys are doing? If you don't like the way in which these guys protect and uphold your freedom, you can kindly fuck right off. Or join them and then voice your opinion.

I think that we are all clinging to a great many piano tops...

^ don't forget the Stuka dive bomber with the siren on it.

the symbol looks cool, sure the guys are retarded but whatever, who gives a fuck, seriously.

SS Runes go on a black background, not navy blue. The SS was not evil either, just the Einsatzgruppen (even though normal SS would rehabilitate at concentration camps as guards.

And piss on Europe. Not only did the Germans, Spanish, French and Italian all commit genocide 60 years ago, they allowed genocide in Bosnia and are the most Xenophobic people.

Besides, if they want they can cancel their military spending and use that $50 bucks to buy a meal or something.

+1 on Terminal Lance. Here's his take on the whole thing:

Terminal Lance is truly the best take on the military I've come across. Very interesting civil-military divide commentary, too.

I guess you're going to whine about the KISS band logo next.

Maybe they should use Obama's "O" design from his '08 campiagn for the ScOut sniper logo. Or, maybe civilians can continue to go fist themselves. Is that 'defending the war machine at any cost,' dickwipe?

Anyone find it funny how a UK paper is bitching about this while the UK is rocking and rolling in the Falklands?

Yeah bro, I hear you have your own "war machine" across the pond.
