Is cgpa the only thing that matters the most in securing a job?

What would other eligibility criteria be besides an excellent or perfect cgpa in securing a job at high paying firms? Could somene who doesn't have the perfect score but posseses all the necessary skills and talent have a chance besides someone who has the perfect score? I mean there are various circumstances that dictates a person's cgpa to be lower, not necessarily because it's solely their own fault. Would a recruiter notice the difference and recognize the talent or only choose candidates with the higher cgpa? If so, what would a decent cgpa look like for the reputed firms? Any valuable insights would be appreciated.
