Is Golub a good place if you are interested in PC?

Would working at Golub be ideal if you are interested in private credit? How are they perceived for someone with a strong resume/background?

Concerned about potentially downgrading, most people seem to come from very mediocre groups but I heard that culture is very good.

They are one of the top MM direct lending funds. You will be doing 1L and Unitranche sponsor-backed LBOs and associated work (add-ons, refis, dividends). It won't be deeper in the cap stack/higher yielding stuff, but they have a lot of firepower/fundraising and a good track record.

As far as "prestige" / "pedigree" maybe not as impressive as an HPS/BXC/Other MF PC but a well respected shop with a lot of deal flow.

It actually does higher yielding stuff in the form of preferred equity, NAV loans, mezz, etc, in its GEMS funds.

Can you speak a bit about overall hours and flexibility? Are we talking 70-80 hours banking style or something more manageable in the 55-65 range?

Progress is impossible without change...
