Congrats - just curious what was offer compensation wise (ballpark or range is fine)?
Few players recall big pots they have won, strange as it seems, but every player can remember with remarkable accuracy the outstanding tough beats of his career.
Idk why I was hit with MS. It's a legit question. He has 23 more months at his current job before he leaves for this new one. I'd be curious if OP has set any professional targets over that time, or he simply wants to do enough to get by (not implying it would be the latter)
I think my goal is just to get as much deal experience as possible. Some people like to chill and relax once they lock down an offer but I’d much rather see as much of the deal process as possible. I also plan on taking the GMAT in case I need to apply to B school
I found telling people the truth to be the best option. May not work for everyone but i found people appreciated the honesty and don’t feel that it was held against me at all
What advice do you have for someone who just started their first year of banking but is planning on doing on-cycle next year? How important is getting on the best deals? Just curious because you said 80-90% of the questions focused on your deal experience.
You mentioned multiple times that the interviews were deal experience heavy. Assuming you are a first year analyst, how did you have anything to talk about?
Even if you are a second year analyst, how did you have ENOUGH to talk about?
Not a knock on you at all, just curious how that works.

Why would you say it was easier on cycle at a larger firm than off at a smaller one?

Thank you!
What was your recruiting process like?
Toughest questions?
What did you feel prepared and not prepared for?

What are your professional goals and things you want to focus on over the next 23 months?

What is your school background and gpa? Tier of bank?
.....
Does your BB have a 3rd year analyst program? Or what are your plans for 2020
Throughout your process did you frequently have full excel-based modeling exams or just paper LBOs?
Also, if you had to assign a percentage to each, what % of the interview time was spent on behaviorals vs previous deals vs technicals?
Appreciate you doing the AMA.
....
Appreciate the insight, thank you!

Until you see your bonus that is..
How important is GPA if you are in a top group (MS M&A/GS TMT/EVR)? Also, how/when did you prep for the technicals?
Throughout the process, were you ever asked about your high school SAT / ACT and did that carry any weight in the decision making?
It really only came up in initial recruiter meetings. I imagine it might be more important if you went to a non-target vs. target school
Sounds good, thank you!
