Reaching out to VC firms
I'm really interested in going into VC for life sciences but having a hard time figuring the best strategy for this.
I have an advanced life sciences degree and working in the healthcare team at a known IB that places well for PE but haven't seen many go into VC (could be because of the degree background perhaps). I'm approaching the 18 month mark and have started looking at making a move but finding many recruiters are focused on PE despite there being many VCs in my city.
Does anyone have insight on how best to approach VC recruiting? Who is best to reach out to, straight to seniors/partners, or juniors first then up? Does submitting your CV on their careers page for future openings really work or is there a better strategy? Happy to hear any advice and tips for VC recruiting in general too.
VC is networking game, much less structured process than IB/PE.
My best advice is to reach out to firms you are interested in to have a conversation and provide a few companies that may fit their investment strategy.
