Need help with a Growth Equity Sourcing Test

Hi everyone,

Created a burner account for the sake of anonymity.

I'm interviewing with a fund (think TA/Summit/GA/IVP) that asked me to source a few companies that fit these specific parameters:

  • $15mm Revenue
  • Double digit growth

I have identified a few consumer, enterprise IT and security startups that fit the mold. I'm reaching out to the forum to suggest any that might be applicable. Similarly, if anyone has a slide template for displaying the companies, I'd love to see it.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you're asking us to do your homework for you. If you're at a bank this should be a layup, get on Pitchbook, CapIQ, etc and run a search. Even if you don't have access to these tools, make an account and say you're considering buying.

Crunchbase also has a ton of data that you can use.

Revenue figures for a private company are tough to come by, but you could use proxy metrics such as headcount to get an idea of the company size and growth.

Google is your friend as well, sometimes press releases will have snippets of high level growth/revenue figures.

I'm not at a bank so I don't normally source companies. Hustled to get the interview and want to make sure I do well.

Definitely trying to get some insights from people who might source all the time/are better versed int he topic. I've identified 3 solid companies that I'm comfortable pitching. I found them through previous knowledge of the industry, articles for revenues, comparable analysis via CB insights, etc.

I'll definitely check out the resources you provided!
