From WM and TR?

I’m a non-target graduate from Canada and currently working as a portfolio analyst in wealth management (3years). I work on a daily basis with our trading desk to execute bloc trade or to structure product for our client. Slowly I started to notice that it is what I enjoy the most and what I good at so decided that I want to get a job as an equity trader in the next 2 years. What is from your experience the typical path to follow for someone like me?

I would recommend trying to build a relationship with your direct contacts on the desks you work with and trying to build a relationship and express interest with them over time, and hopefully something will open up internally. If you do good work and they like you, they should try and help you out hopefully.
