On Cycle Profile Rating
Hey all, I am a graduating senior prepping for on cycle and wanted clarity on which firms I should be going for.
Profile - Non Target, Mid tier BB Coverage (think Bofa, Citi), GPA: 3.9+, SAT: 1550+.
Based on my profile it feels like MF is out of play but was wondering if I can shoot for UMM or am I out of luck there as well.
You are at a BB and have crazy grades, you already know the answer
Some roles at top funds will only be available for GS TMT/MS M&A-type applicants which is what I think he's asking about. UMM definitely sounds attainable though.
Which roles?
i heard mcdonald's pe team is hiring, u should look into that
Anything is possible. We create our own opportunities, not some bank or group. Just work hard and try your best recruiting. You’ll be fine, MF or not
Don't worry about whether or not you'll will get looks, go for what you want. There are so many spots saved for off cycle that if you don't get one because you aimed to high you will have tons of opportunities.
The #1 determining factor is where your specific group traditionally exits. If your coverage group tends to send to UMM, you are of course competitive yourself, but if 90% of their exits are MM that will likely be your range
