Info on Carlyle Global Credit - Opportunistic & Special Situations

Curious if anyone could provide a bit more info on Carlyle special sits. How is culture, performance, are they typically just doing work similar to blackstone tac opps (Mezz and Pref lending). On the HSP website it says they have invested in preferred or convertible senior equity, a range of senior and subordinated debt, bespoke hybrid investments, and control equity. How much control do they really do?
