Career Transition from NMTC / Impact Investing

Good Morning,

My question pertains to what opportunities could arise from working in the NMTC space / Impact Investing.  In short, I just graduated Undergrad (non-target) and am working for a CDE (Community Development Entity) in the Impact Investment / New Markets Tax Credit Space.  I have been at the job for a little over 3 months so not long at all.  I have begun to think about what other external opportunities in Finance I could pursue if I decided I no longer wanted to work in the NMTC space.

I am concerned I will become pigeonholed in this specific industry with no chance for movement in another line of business.  I have begun to explore the CFA route and discover what avenues that could potentially open.  Does anyone have experience or could offer some insight into this?

I am worried the skillset I am building in this job won't be applicable to other jobs in the future.

Best,
