Finance Student with too much time on hands

Studying in finance and economics at non target school in north Jersey. I’m taking summer courses and graduating after upcoming fall semester.

The summer courses only take up my evenings, and my mornings are free and early afternoons are free (I do delivery on some nights too for my local restaurants).

Are there any videos I could be watching? Or any opportunities I should be working on? I worked as a real estate agent last year and I consider that my “internship” because I’ve only been in college 2 years (graduated high school 2022, graduating college end of 2024 due to course load).

Any advice? I’m not sure where in finance I want to go, I just know I need to work in city.

Depends this platform focuses on CRE more so for the RE side here. For banking I can't speak to.

You can maybe get into a Regional shop with just an RE license, but unless you have deep connections in NYC, it's going to be hard. I would look for an internship that would be a second-half summer rotation and fall semester. You will be able to talk your way into some smaller shops.

Skipping years in school might sound impressive, but I am in a place to hire and would hire a 4-year student with multiple internships over a 2 year, accelerated high GPA student with only a RE license. I'm on the brokerage and lending side.

With a license and some experience, you might be able to work for a Leasing company. They might also be flexible in terms of hours.

Yeah he’s right. You put yourself on an accelerated track with limited internships. This isn’t that appealing to employers.
