Hey, I am 21 years old, and current postgraduate finance student at a target school in London. I was wondering if it is valuable to find a mentor and how should I or a person go about it in finding a mentor to gain advise on career progression and entering Investment Banking and related financial services. The best mentors are those found organically... keeping up with people you've networked with, old bosses / coworkers etc. It can definitely take time to develop those relationships as a young person. But just cold emailing asking people to mentor you is a weird approach
I think you should be networking with people to hear about their career and how they've approached things, not asking them to commit to mentoring you. A 20 minute phone call is all you are going to get from most people
