Any chance u can take easy courses next sem? Was in a similar boat (3.6 first sem) but was able to get back to 3.85+ through laying low for a bit. Two semesters might be tough but one sem shouldn’t back track ur degree too much
I was in a similar situation, stem (think physics, Chem) major at a known hard target. If you can get to 3.7+ w/ the easy classes I think many people give u the nod bc you look differentiated from hoardes of econ/fin majors
A 3.5-3.6 GPA at a target is anything but low. I swear people’s perceptions have become warped af. You can easily get into a BB/EB with that GPA if you’ve done your networking since your profile sounds pretty competitive.
No, I perfectly understand. I think a lot of people misinterpret the role of GPA in the IB recruiting process—it is simply used as a resume filter (with a 3.5 being the usual cut-off for a target school) and trust me when I say it plays little to no role after you get selected for interviews.
It's pretty low lol. At my school especially, kids with below 3.7 don't even have a shot because of grade inflation. Depends on if OP's school has notorious grade deflation or not. Even then, when everyone applying from other targets have 3.7/3.8+, what makes you think this person's resume doesn't get thrown out immediately because of a 3.5/3.6? OP needs to network diligently to have a shot

Following, pretty similar profile (3.5/3.6 trying to get it up to at least a 3.7) at a target
lol stop fishing for affirmation… target, 3.6, internships and in selective clubs?
