Investment Banking in the Middle East after a target French Masters (Grande Ecole)
Hey guys!
I recently received an admit to one of the Grande Ecole in France for an MIM. Seeing the lack of IB opportunities for English speakers made me wonder about shifting to the Middle East, preferably Dubai after my Masters. It's also closer to home.
The thing is I'm from an Engineering background and have to study everything from the ground up. One of the upsides of doing a Masters in the EU would be the accessibility to internships. It is a two-year course, and I intend to use my time diligently.
So, these are my questions:
-
What kind of internship roles at a BB/EB should I aim for initially? Should I search for internships beyond BB/EB, say Big4? If so, which roles are favored by IBs?
-
Which are the best ways to prepare for an IB internship interview for a total noob like myself? Any platforms like Breaking into Wallstreet, Wallstreet prep, etc.
-
Would networking help me out with getting internships?
I come from a really low socio-economic background. But I've excelled in academics in every walk of my life. I made a mistake of not studying for the job. I don't wanna repeat that again. So, I would REALLY appreciate your guidance.
