SWFs Dubai/Qatar - Will i ever be able to move past associate role

I’ve been looking into sovereign wealth funds recently but apparently the seniors will never let you move past the associate role because it’s a state owned fund

is it even possible even working associate for 3-5 years?

Control you in case you did some shit in their country
