Need help with Luxury watches

I’ve never bought a luxury watch before, but given current market conditions and the price drop of watches over the past 6 months, my interest in watches has grown.

I know practically nothing about luxury watches (my statement above could be incorrect, based on a MS article), but I’m eager to learn. Curious if anyone has any general advice or resources. Things I’m currently looking to learn about: Different brands/models, what drives the value of different models (specifications), process of buying new/resale, how liquid they are, the implied risks of sinking $20-30K into a watch).

Would be extremely grateful for any advice or resource suggestions! Happy to share what I learn with other folks.
