Will the CPA designation add to my resume?

Return to Main FAQ Page

Much like the CFA, the CPA designation will not land you a job. If you do earn the CPA, you can be sure your knowledge of accounting will be extremely useful when starting a career in finance. There is a good chance that this will be taken positively in an interview, as your knowledge of financial statements will undoubtedly be very good. It may also hurt you, though, if the recruiter reviewing your resume sees you as one-dimensional.
