Equity Research Associate Summer Intern

Sent in my cover letter, resume, and transcript to UBS through a university co-op posting. On the co-op website it said I was granted an interview. It was in downtown Toronto on Bay Street. About 20 minutes long. Two people were interviewing me, one lady, one male. Both were very enthusiastic and looked young/well kept/and in good shape. It was a very low pressure interview, and they were very nice.

NO Technical questions. It was all fit.

-"Tell me about yourself and why you were interested in this position"
-"Why do you want to work for UBS specifically?"
-"Walk me through your resume"
-"Tell me about your experience in [extra curricular here]"
-"I noticed you say on your resume you have an interest in [cool hobby here], tell me about that" [really chill interviewers]
-"Any questions for us?"

Overall, what you gotta do is really sell yourself and brush up on the soft skills. Come across as confident, and well-spoken and have a solid story down ---> Why finance, why equity research, why UBS. Do your research and then rehearse that story so it's consistent throughout the entire interview. Smile at your interviewers and look enthusiastic. Easiest Bay Street interview I had during recruiting this year.
