What did the interview consist of?
1 on 1 Interview
Skills Test
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied online which entailed various behavioural questions and why UBS, banking etc. This was followed by an online numerical test and an online logical reasoning test.

I heard nothing for months until I received an email inviting me for an interview.

The day of the interview started with an in person numerical test (pretty standard stuff nothing too taxing) and then a 1 on 1 with an MD.

The interview mainly focused on my leadership and work experience. Technicals weren’t an area we touched on, not sure if this is because I demonstrated my knowledge of the area earlier in the interview ( spoke of refi wall, Basel III and the steep yield curve that we were experiencing ). Since I’m from a non-target with weak A-levels he did drill me on how smart I was, I didn’t really have much of an answer to this other than stating that I dominated the numerical we just sat finishing before all other, I did, and seemed to work. He did mention that my online logical score was in the 80th percentile so I feel that these online tests aren’t useless.

After the first scheduled interview there was an off the cuff interview with the other MD of the group, more of a meet and greet than an interview. And in hindsight it was a positive sign.

I had reorganised flights to make this interview on the premise that the final round would be held the next week after the 1st round. So when it took me a week to get through to HR for them to totally blow past the fact that I’d got through slightly pissed me off considering these things tend to be quite a big deal to candidates, especially since they knew my situation. They said they were waiting for other candidates to reply before advancing the process, so I was interviewing for back up spots.

It turned out that the final round never happened, HR throughout the process were totally useless, unorganised and unhelpful. The interview process was overall quite pleasant but the admin involved with the whole experience wasn’t at all.
