Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Everything is in reference to MBA recruiting. The bank came on campus to do a presentation. Since this is a Houston-based bank, they came only once. After the initial presentation, everything was left up to us. I gathered contacts at the bank's presentation, got advice and contacts from 2nd years, and then began reaching out to as many of the bankers at Simmons as I could while preparing as fast as I could for the technical side of the interviews. I did this for BB bank as well, but focused primarily on Simmons. Had 30-60 minute conversations with at least 7 bankers. Was invited to 1st round interview on the phone with a director. Some very basic technical questions were asked. Passed. Was invited to superday. Had 30-minute interviews with everyone from analysts to MDs. Very good experience. They were open to all kinds of questions, even some that could be deemed non-kosher (e.g. what is your least favorite part of working here). Some technical questions were asked during 1-2 30-min interviews, but they were easy and very basic. If you study the WSO guide, you'll be fine. Superday was on Thursday, got the offer Friday night.
