Asset Management Development Program
General Interview Information
Interview Details
Around March-April you will do an initial 30 minute phone interview. It is purely behavioral using examples from resume (i.e. "I see you interned at XXXX, tell me what was challenging about that? How did you overcome that challenge?").
After that, they invite people do a Super Day in Pittsburgh. The Super Day is about 5 one on one interviews and a group lunch. Questions are a mix of behavioral and fit (i.e. Why PNC? Why Asset Management? What interests you about helping people with their finances? etc). The interviewers are from a variety of different backgrounds and all of them are pretty cool.
In the end I think they accept about 10-15 people which is about 1/2 of the people at my Super Day. It's really all behavioral and fit, no technicals. They just want people that are personable and come off as intelligent.
Also, something they really like is open-mindedness about both your eventual role and location. Part of the training program involves rotating around to different roles and different cities. Make sure to emphasize that you are willing to do whatever they need and don't have your heart set on one specific thing (bc then they just think you'll quit the program if they need you to relocate).
Overall pretty easy process with nice and friendly people. PNC is really up and coming though, so it may be getting more intense and selective if more people are applying. If you want to reach out to anybody the email format is [email protected].
