Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Below are the steps I took:
-Interview with an HR person. Very short and only convered the basics.
-Interview with potential boss - Covered my programming experience, analytical mindset and work habits. Done over Skype, lasted about an hour, and was very focused on fit.
-Code test with potential boss - Also done over Skype. He gave me a coding problem and asked me to narrate how it was done. He encouraged me to use Google. I didn't know how to do a lot of it, but he said the interview was more about how I thought and approached the problem then how quickly I got the answer.
-In-person interview with 3 people - one was my potential boss's boss, one was on his team, and one was a consultant that I would work with. They asked me a lot of questions, but they were mainly about my experience and potential fit. A lot of it seemed to be trying to make me uncomfortable and seeing if I kept my cool.
-Interview with CIO. I pulled out before this interview because I got another offer. I was told that this was only a formality - unless he hated me I would be hired.
