What did the interview consist of?
Phone Interview
1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Deadline for the online application was ~15th Nov 2012. The application was similar to the usual Asian banking app - personal details, competency questions (e.g. Why Nomura, Tell us about a situation where you showed leadership etc.) and online assessments (20-minute IQ test-type quizzes).
Following that (roughly 2 weeks afterward) received notification from HR that I got a first-round phone interview. Interview happened next week, with an associate who asked mainly technical or resume-related questions.
Had a second-round phone interview after the holiday period (so, early January), again from a banker (a VP this time), this one seemed a bit more behavioural than my previous phone interviews.
Was invited to final round/superday two weeks afterward. During the last week of Jan, I was flown to New York and at the company's New York office did video conference interviews with 4 bankers over in HK (associate, associate, VP, MD one after the other). All a mix of behavioural, technical and resume; the second, however, had a case study as well.
Found out I received the offer two days later.
