S&T Summer Analyst

Assessment centre consisted of three 1 on 1 interviews, presentation, numerical test and group exercise. Numerical test was exactly the same as the one Morgan Stanley uses online and therefore easy, although it takes more time than online version. Interviews were mostly focused on fit and market knowledge. I have received no brainteasers and finance questions (economics major). A few tricky questions to catch you off guard, otherwise the interviews were very relaxed. The presentation part was the trickiest one - it asked you to outline trade ideas for at least 3 different asset classes - you have to do your homework for this part. Group exercise was to come up with different business ideas and then to decide which ideas to propose to venture capitalist. I don't really know how they evaluate this part, therefore I can't offer any advice.

To sum up, the best thing you can do is know the fit part perfectly (Why trading? Why MS?) and follow the markets regularly to be able to hold a decent conversation.
