General Interview Information
Interview Details
The phone interviews were fairly easy with standard questions of brain teasers, fit questions, motivations, and stock pitches.
They flew 18 of us out to HK for 2 days of interviews for just the equities division (not sure how many had super days for Fixed Income). First day had speakers, introduction to the interview format, and a math/reasonings test.
The second day was the actual superday. It consisted of a group activity with each individual being monitored by someone across the room; a series of 3 one on one interviews with ED/MD level interviewers who asked questions ranging from sell me this diet coke (i had that) to market knowledge, brain teasers, and a lot of motivation related questions; finally there was 20-30 preparation time with a booklet handed to you on a stock's research (in my case, it was Apple) and you had to answer a question. Mine was "does apple deserve to be the largest market cap company in the world?". Then you go into a room with 3 MDs and you make a 5 min presentation.
All the interviewers and speakers seemed really nice. Some of them had impressive backgrounds; one was a world champion in triathlons and did multiple Iron Mans before.
Overall, it was fairly challenging but also very comprehensive. Went out to LKF bar area to celebrate before being flown back.
