Sophomore Summer Investment Banking Analyst

The hiring process began with an information session on campus at the University of Pennsylvania. For the sophomore program, they were only giving out a very limited number (12) of first round interview spots. This first round interview was conducted on campus with two senior analysts from JP Morgan. The interviewers were friendly, but rather unengaging. The interview was approximately 45 minutes long and focused mainly on typical fit-based questions. There were a few very general technical questions, but the technicality of the interview was limited, because they were focusing on sophomores who have little to no finance internship experience. Thus, to someone prepping for this type of interview, I would advise them to focus on creating a very interesting and compelling story for "why investment banking", integrating the various aspects of your background, interests, and personality throughout the interview.
