Consulting - Global Business Services

IBM bought PwC's consulting practice years ago (2002) and merged it into its Global Business Services. I got the opportunity to interview by attending a national MBA conference. The interview was centrally run from the IBM office near Dulles Airport in Virginia. Most candidates seemed to be from DC area schools, but there were some from Ohio State, Thunderbird, etc. Nearly all were MBA students, but there were a few PhD students, and a few technical degrees. Clearly, everyone was exceptionally talented and came from top-tier schools. IBM was very professional in how they ran the interview. It was a half-day affair that began with a presentation by an MD. By the way, IBM's GBS goes to market by industry, so you could be in their financial services and banking group or telecom group, etc. I had two interviews, back-to-back. The interviews were combination of case interview and behavioral interviews. Both interviewers were very nice and no one was out to make life uncomfortable for you. I left the interview with a very favorable impression of IBM.
