What did the interview consist of?
1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Richard Ivey School of Business is one of the target finance schools in Canada. Goldman Sachs New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, and SF regularly recruits from Ivey.
The first interview stage is on campus recruiting early January. 30 people were invited to interview fir first round after submitting their resumes online. 2/3 of the questions were technicals with the other being fit.
First round I focused on building rapport and answered most of the interview questions well. However I did not get the final brain teaser at the end.
I was one of the few invited to interview at the Los Angeles office for an accelerated process 2 weeks after round 1. Goldman will make exceptions and speed the process if any candidate have exploding offers.
During the second round I had 3 interviews with VP, Associate, and senior analyst. Almost 100% of the questions were regarding fit such as why GS, why LA, why finance, and past experiences.
Unfortunately, I did not receive an offer and was told I am on the waiting list and will hear back during February regarding the final decision.
