Group Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied for this position via my school's online career portal. I received an e-mail two weeks later saying that I had been invited to interview for the GS Ops Analyst position in Irving, TX. In the email, I was told that if I had been selected for the second round of interviews (which would be the day after my first round of interviews), I would be notified the evening of my first round interviews.

There were two (nearly identical) interviews during the first round: both were 30 minutes long and had two interviewers and one interviewee. Both sets of interviewers had me walk them through my resume and asked me questions regarding previous work experience, extracurriculars, and asked me mostly behavioral questions (ex. "Tell me about a time you had to step-up into a leadership role" or "What would you say that your biggest weakness is?"). After this, the interviewers told me what their respective roles were at GS. After the first interview ended, I was immediately moved to the room next door for my second interview of the first round. After this interview was over, I was told that I would be receiving a call from New York if I had been selected for the second round of interviews. Later that day (around 6pm) I received a call from the campus recruiting representative saying that I had been selected for an interview tomorrow. I was able to select my own interview time.

The second round of interviews were very similar to the first round. The difference was that I was interviewing with more senior-level/managerial employees who talked a little bit more about the Ops Analyst program. They went over their recent merger with Archon and how they handle all things relating to real estate. These interviewers also told me that the training for the Ops Analyst program would be taking place in New York for a week. Once again, I had two sets of interviews and both sets of interviewers asked questions that were similar to the ones I received during the first round.

Overall, the interviewers were very friendly and welcoming (one of the biggest positives during my interview experience with GS). Three weeks after I had finished interviewing at GS (while I was still waiting for my offer letter which had been delayed), one of the managers who I interviewed with during my second round reached out to me via email to follow-up with me, saying that I was one of his "top choices" for the position. Very, very nice folks who enjoy working in teams.
