Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I first met with an alum from my school who works at GS to discuss the job. After applying, I was invited to a first-round interview on campus, as well as a reception the night before the interview, which was just a chance to talk about the job with analysts and associates.
The first-round interview was a 2-on-1 with an MD and a more junior banker. It started with a discussion about my resume, and then turned into a conversation about a recent IPO. The MD disagreed with my opinion about the IPO and grilled me on it. After that, there were a few basic technical questions.
