What did the interview consist of?
1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
First round: 2-1 interview.
Final round: 2-1 interview (x3).
Both were a combination of technical and competency, even though I was told it would be purely competency.
People were so lovely. I got one of my technical questions a bit wrong, they just corrected me (I thought they'd make me feel thick!) But they'll test you on what they've just told you, just to make sure you fully understand what they have said.
Questions were based on derivatives; measuring credit risk (one of the measures I mentioned wasn't actually used by credit risk, so I just gave another measure); markets with minimal risk.
Had a good cop bad cop scenario with 2 of my final round interviews. Just don't let them crack you. Just make sure you say something!!
Got rejected after final round after not demonstrating enough motivation to join GS, and Credit Risk. Whooopsie!
Only downside was that I was only notified a few days before my actual interview that I made it through. Usually should get a week or so.
