What did the interview consist of?
Phone Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Basic competency Interview with HR.
However, don't rehearse too many of the generic questions you would find in most interview guides as they will ask questions tailored to the position and your online application (i.e. I never got the "walk me through your CV" question)
Be prepared to answer questions such as:
- Why Investment Management?
- You described yourself as naturally curious - Give me some examples
- Why not start on the sell-side where you get a more in-depth and structured training?
- Why did you choose company XYZ as your stock pitch? + Follow up: Who is their most important competitor and why didn't you recommend that company (yes, this question really came from a HR rep !!)
Overall, try to be calm and treat it as a regular conversation where you just want to get to know each other!
