Summer Analyst

1st round on campus interview with an alumnus (3rd year analyst) and a non-alumnus (MD) which lasted about 30 minutes. Questions were very qualitative for the most part, with the exception of a stock pitch and some macro questions. Interviewers were amicable.

Super Day consisted of them flying me up to Manhattan for an interview at their office- they won't pay for a hotel room, but you DEFINITELY need to find some friends or alumni to stay with the night before. It helped me immensely by getting my head in the game, and allowing me plenty of time to get my bearings from the airport to the city. Six 1-on-1 interviews with employees from every level (analyst, associate, VP, etc.); I rolled the dice well and received few acct/valuation questions, but others were asked those type of questions. I had to make a couple of stock pitches.

This firm heavily emphasizes culture more so than any other I interviewed with; they are less interested in how much you already know (avoid being a "gunner" but show excitement for your potential future fellow employees) and more in how well you will fit into and thrive within their amicable, collegial culture.
