Asset Management Analyst

Initial communications were through friends of my parents, networking as best I could to position myself favourably. Name dropping helped somewhat, but in the end the position I was interviewing for was slightly outside of my experience level (I was essentially a fresh grad with a couple of summers doing analysis at a bank). With a year of experience under my belt, it would have been easier to woo my way in.

The office and culture inside seemed attractive as the guy interviewing me relayed, but that appeared to have been not enough to keep him there - he jumped ship to a comptitor within a couple of months of my interview, with a good portion of his book (he was a retail guy / IA)
