Started with an initial phone interview where the topics included what my background was, why I was interested in joining Brandes, my interest in capital markets.

There were a few fit questions on calculating free cash flow and putting together a discounted cash flow statement (also asked about different ways to calculate terminal value.

After the phone interview I was called back and told they were going to put me in the backup pile, but luckily someone dropped out and they decided to bring me into the second round.

They have a dinner the night before with all the potential candidates along with a director, two research associates, and a senior analyst. The second round consisted of 7 30 minute interviews, a writing section, and an accounting test. The interviews ranged from pure fit (I mainly discussed sports in one of my interviews) to what goes into your analysis of an equity and then some brain teasers.
