Summer Analyst in Private Equity

Initially met with the head of one of the divisions in the private equity group and had about an hour long interview with him one-on-one. This interview was mostly fit, where we discussed my career objectives and the private equity industry as a whole.

I was invited back a few weeks later to meet the rest of the industry specific PE team (ended up meeting 4 of the 6 people on the team). Each interview was approximately 45 minutes long and was 50/50 fit and technicals. The hardest technical question was modeling the future cash flows of a company under an LBO, then giving the IRR (rule of 72).
