Analyst

I was invited in for a superday with BarCap's Public Finance team after establishing a connection with a senior member of the group through a previous internship. He was generous enough to place me into the final round of interviews despite not being involved in the earlier stages of recruiting.

After speaking with my contact, I was contacted via e-mail by HR inviting me in for a superday the following week. I was asked to also fill out an online application through the company website.

The day of the interview, I was escorted to a conference room with 4 or 5 other candidates. After a brief group orientation from HR, we were given our schedules which consisted of four 30-minute interviews. The first interviewer on my schedule came and "picked me up" and we walked to his office.

I interviewed with an MD, a Director and two VPs. All were mainly behavioral/fit, but the two VPs included a few brain teasers and technical questions.

The day concluded around 4pm on a Friday, and by Monday I had received an offer. The experience was overall very positive - obviously because it ended in an offer, but also due to how I was treated through the entire process. Everyone I encountered was positive, respectful and seemed genuinely interested in my interview process.
