What would you want to achieve in 2020, that you haven't achieved so far?
That's all the question has to offer. Feel free to trash, speak your truth or just take a few moments to reflect. Happy 2020. Cheers!

That's some serious weight
Hey Pmc2ghy. You seem like someone who has things quite figured out. Thanks for sharing this! I hope you attain all of these in 2020.
Thanks for responding CRE. Congratulations on the wedding! The book part is truly difficult because it requires grit month after month. I had decided to read 40 books in 2020; I finished 7. Although I did pick up at least 5-6 other books that were never finished.
I hope you accomplish each line item in 2020. Cheers!
The trick to number 5 is to incorporate audio books into your daily routine. I read 51 books in 2019, and 43 of them were audiobooks that I would listen to during my commute to and from work, and whenever I would be driving somewhere. Allows you to read those books you've always wanted without sacrificing too much time.
Man, someone just threw me a SB for this today and it's rough to read. Thanks to COVID-19:
1/5 is pretty awful.
Immigrate to a developed capital market.
Break into LMM IB.
Finish a few professional certifications.
Talk to my girlfriend's parents.
Finish a marathon.
Stick to my list of goals.
1) Diversify my income, so I don't rely on one company for a paycheck 2) Launch a consumer products company (have one in mind)
1) Get an internship in physical commodities house in EMEA (networked already with +/- 300 traders but nothing concrete) for my gap year
2) Enjoying little pleasures of life (sit on an french-italian turquoise beach/(re)read classical books (Racine, Corneille, Shakespeare), hiking, travelling around Europe) before slavery
3) Intensify workout (30min daily ==>1hr of cladding)
Weird flex, but ok.
Jesus bruh. Why isn't getting laid on your list?
1) 100kg at sub 10% fat; currently 98kg and 12%ish
2) Get promoted
3) Maintain reading pace of 26 books/yr
4) Develop my python to be able to contribute to ML projects
5) Learn German in H1; Spanish in H2.
How tall are you? I'm 6"3 and 95 kg at 10% and want to get to 110 kg by end of year (without creeping over 14%)
A little over 6'4 (1.95m); don't have great genes to build mass so trying to be reasonable.
Untear my pec -_-
Lose some weight so I can finally make eye-contact with my penis again
Among other things that are more important, I'm especially HYPED about this one:
In just TWO WEEKS I submit my TWO WEEK NOTICE to this job I loathe. I'm almost there and I get giddy thinking about it.
More importantly: I'm getting married and am especially HYPED for that. That's going to be a blast.
One of my closest friends (who I met on this site) had this brilliant idea. We shared notes via iPhones and put our goals in. We're going to hold each other accountable for them. 2020 shall be good.
Congratulations on both events! How long did it take you to plan the wedding for x number of people? Can imagine that it is stressful with finance hours. Did you get a professional wedding organiser or is that unnecessary?
Thank you!
We're actually doing a very basic courthouse wedding, so that is pretty easy to plan. After I switch careers and we save up more, then we will plan for a big reception. I'll let you know how challenging that is when I cross that bridge!
Big moves, man. Congrats
Thanks man!
1) passing the CFA
2) moving to nyc
3) getting dual citizenship with a EU country
How does moving to New York fit together with getting dual citizenship in an EU country? You get citizenship first and then move to NYC?
They’re unrelated. I can get EU citizenship through one of my parents so it’s just something I want to get out of the way, and it could help in the future, but not really any time soon.
