Moving in the city

I'm moving out of my 2BR to another 2BR, going from a luxury building to a walkup. I'm getting quotes that are a bit insane given what I have.

Basically - I have a full bed, dresser, desk, dresser and a bunch of boxes w/ clothes and misc shit. I can't imagine it would take more than 2 hours door to door (Tribeca to Soho) with 2 movers - main time killer is the walkup but its really not much stuff (my roomate and I are splitting ways, he had all the big furniture/appliances). Imagine everthing that would fit in a 10x14 room.

Am I better off just hiring some guys off craigslist? Anyone have experience or recommendations?

http://www.citymove.com/ - awesome website, used it several times along with several friends, people bid on your move. plus there is a rating system. just be honest with what you have, better to over estimate then under.
