Visiting VC Offices to Give Resume in Person?

Hi y'all,

I am looking for a VC analyst job in a new city where I do not have a network, so I am considering physically going to small fund offices to ask about vacancies and give my resume in person along with cold emailing. I am talking about the funds that don't have vacancies on their websites. Do you think that could work or just be a waste of time? Has anyone tried this before? If you work in VC, how would you react if someone came to your office to ask about possible employment?

In many cases they won't even let you in the office to ask (I tried this some years back in college). The days of showing up to an office unannounced to ask about jobs has long since passed in my opinion. Focus on cold emails/call that have a bit of a hook and you will have more success I think.
