SHOULD I DO THIS MINOR?

Im an international freshman at a top target who is currently studying economics. I know that usually for finance jobs they dont care too much about your major but then again I do feel like they prefer stem students with math-y hard sciencey majors. i was thinking of getting a minor in "statistics and machine learning" to make my resume stand out more from the gazillion econ majors and sound more impressive but i wouldnt wanna end up risking a good gpa/easy a's over it. As an international student please keep in mind I do have higher stakes, but still please let me know what you advise I should do considering you have more knowledge than me.

This is an extremely broad generalization that very possibly may not apply to you, but econ majors here tend to struggle in stats, linalg, and coding classes. Even some of the intro ones.
